Sunday City Guide: What to do in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, the sunny city full of west coast love, is teeming with events and activities from soulful open mic nights to chill food truck vibes to start your week off right. Here are 3 ways to spend your Sunday in the city of angels.

1. Chill Sunday

"The Shops at Adams Gateway"

When: Every Sunday

While attending a "Women in Music" event, I was pleasantly surprised to find this oasis of chill vibes. Adjacent to the famous "JNJ Burger and BBQ" , is an artisanal community selling unique and eclectic items ranging from homemade soaps to custom made accessories. Apart from the brightly colored shipping containers that house these local shops is an open area where the popular "Not your Mama's Kitchen" food truck is cooking up crazy good chicken and waffles, grits, and omelettes. Sunshine, good food, and a charming atmosphere make this a must for a chill Sunday in Los Angeles.

2. Jam session Sunday

"Seventy7 Cocktail Lounge"

When: Every Sunday

Looking for oermlkemelkflive music to unwind? This is the place to be. In the heart of Culver City is the Seventy7 Lounge where I was completely taken aback by the soulful sounds of the "LOUD AS FUNK" band. Musicians and lovers of music will feel right at home as this band bursts into rich organic funk. Oh and it's free!

3. Soulful Sunday

"Comfort LA"

When: Every 1st Sunday

This conscious comfort soul food spot situated downtown has a new way to enjoy your Sunday. In addition to the bench-style seating in the main part of the restaurant is a backyard patio where the magic happens. Open mic signups, 90's trend themes, and great music makes this a perfect place to relax.

What do you in the city?! Check back every Thursday for a new way to enjoy your Sunday in LA!
